A Clinical Study on Effectiveness of Fermalac^(®) Vaginal in Patient with Vaginal Candidiasis

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was performed on 20 patients who were diagnosed as candida vaginitis between August, 1984 and December, 1984 at Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Kangnam St. Mary´s Hospital affiliated to Catholic Medical College, Seoul, Korea.
One Fermalac vaginal tablet per day was used for 10 days and the following results were obtained.
1. Pretreatment vaginal discharge in 20 cases of vaginal candidiasis revealed pH 4.95±0.66 (mean±SD) and follow-up discharge of 1 week after Fermalac vaginal treatment revealed pH 4.5±0.5(mean±SD) and follow-up discharge of 2 weeks after Fermalac vaginal treatment revealed pH 4.45±0.49 (mean?SD).
2. Curd like leukorrhea and itching sensation was disappeared in 90% after Fermalac vaginal treatment in 20 cases of vaginal candidasis.
3. Treatment effect by negative finding of direct smear was 90% after Fermalac vaginal treatment in 20 cases of vaginal candidiasis.
